Advancing Opportunities is seeking Part-Time Community Support Specialists in Essex, Morris, Warren, Hudson, Bergen, Passaic, and Union Counties

WAGES: $13.30/ hour

Job Summary: The Community Support Specialist is responsible for providing direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This may include but is not limited to the following: engaging the individual in recreational activities, assisting the individual with homework, taking the individual to participate in a community based recreational activity, and/ or working on communication skills

Required Skills, Abilities, and Responsibilities:
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills;
2. Strong documentation skills;
3. Good driving record.                                                                                                                                      4. Successfully completing all required training;
5. Providing direct respite care services to developmentally disabled persons as assigned                              6. Must be able to travel to assigned client’s home.  

Additional Requirements: The candidate must pass an extensive background check, possess a valid NJ Driver’s License, and be 18 years of age or older. The candidate must also pass a Physical & Drug Screen. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
